Want to feel alive…I DO
In order to do this, I have discovered that sometimes (most often), that involves facing fears! Or atleast, like the quote states, finding a way through it.
Walking into the entrance to Batu Caves in Kuala Lumpur, the first thing I see is a huge snake! I immediately walked quickly up the stairs next to the sidewalk the snake and his owner was standing to get as far away as I could. I found myself, high anxiety yet curious, walking slowly down the stairs to get a closer yet safe look. The man noticed me and started to walk towards me, so I backed up the stairs yelling please don’t come close. Something in me made me slowly approach again, continuing to yell please don’t walk towards me. He stood still holding the snake as I inched my way closer and closer, repeatedly saying please don’t move, until I was standing next to the man and his snake (the tail!)!
I can’t remember the last time, if ever, feeling extreme opposite emotions all at once.
I was terrified, exhilarated, excited…I was shaking, crying and laughing all at once!!!!!!
I think back to my post about fears, fear of seeing a snake or many snakes in Nepal.
Now here I am…touching and holding a snake tail!!!!!!
